On the other hand, the freshman enrollment numbers at Ivy League universities range from 1,000 to 4,000, which clearly explains why the acceptance rate at Ivy League schools is below 10% each year.
In other words, even students who rank first or second in their class, serve as student body president, or are editors of the school newspaper, and have high SAT scores still have less than a 10% chance of being admitted to these schools.
